THE PRELUDE

BY: DARYLL DELGADO

The story, PRELUDE, is written by Daryll Delgado. I find it interesting because the scenarios were inverted or reverse which you need to find out what goes first. The author of the story uses foreshadowing and flashbacks so that readers would be confused therefore it will encourage us to read the story.

My first impression of this story is just normal or the usual feeling because I thought at first that this story is just another uninteresting story but when you try to read the whole story, you tend to think that there is a plot twist going on and a tragic ending. The story has a tragic ending because the wife murdered her husband silently by using the materials of the herbalist friend. At first, I’m really clueless but when I read it three times I figured out the real scenario and the plot twist of the story. I arranged the plot where I would really know what happened in the story where it uses techniques like foreshadowing and flashback.

Nenita’s husband cheated on her. Nenita’s husband always cheated on her yet she didn’t mind at first but when she was quick-tempered with her husband already, she immediately killed her husband quietly. Her husband chooses the decision to cheat his wife that is why the consequence of the husband had a tragic death.

The message of the story is you should not cheat on each other, marriage is sacred because it is written in the divine law and you are committed with your desired partner where God is part of each other’s relationship. If you cheated your partner you could commit sin to your wife and to God and you will stay in hell for the rest of your eternal life. We should not do this because we already choose among the choices, it depends on how you would stay happy with a partner or not. In life you should be careful who the people go and come to your life because maybe they are the ones who could help you or maybe they are the ones who could hurt you and destroy your life.

PS.

In the poster above, I put some symbols.

  • First one is that the unbalanced scale means injustice and gender inequality because the husband is taking advantage of Nenita by commanding her to do this and do that yet Nenita just follows orders even if her husband cheated on her a couple of times.
  • The second one is the skull, which represents poison and death.
  • And the last one is the shadow of a devil behind Nenita, because Nenita killed her husband.

NOT ALL POEMS SING ANALYSIS Oftentimes we come across or encounter poems that we feel are not worth reading because each line of the poem uses figurative language which is very difficult to understand and if we don’t have the knowledge of what figurative language is we tend to ignore and skip that kind of poem. Much more, poems that are not rhymed and somehow just give us that headache of analyzing what it meant to be, is actually giving us a hint not to read that poem. As it seems meaningless and pointless after all. This poem is meaningless in form but it is so meaningful if the figurative language being used to manifest its meaning is clearly understandable and emphasized by the one reading this poem. It is a clear proof that only those who have mastered the usage are the only ones who could fully understand this poem. •The structure of the poem is a "FREE VERSE STRUCTURE" the reason for this is there's no rhyme scheme and no set metrical pattern. •The poem is narrati
SALT ANALYSIS This poem is all about living our life to the fullest. Fullest in the sense that when we search for the meaning of life, we should never expect that all it gives is purely happiness and satisfaction. Not knowing that the opposite of happiness is sadness. Life can never be worth living without pains and sorrows. Happiness can never be felt without having experienced hardships and failures. It must be associated always with heartaches and disappointments, and if your life has already felt all these agonies in life that’s when you will feel the true meaning of life. Salt is itself an ingredient that makes one’s life meaningful and meaningless depending on how you  would actually make it happen. Sadness and loneliness may come your way , but if you will take them as challenges and opportunities then life would be as meaningful as it seems to be. And  life would be worth living for. In the picture above, I draw a human with a tear and a happy face toward it. I draw this to tel
